Self Build

Self Build - Step four iconSome people go down the route of sourcing everything themselves, from a variety of places looking for the most cost effective solution, but when the penny is saved its cost more in the time taken to find it. So before deciding to take this course, you must assess whether or not you actually have enough time to devote to both researching products and scheduling orders. It can undeniably save you a great deal of money, but it’s also a full-time job.

The easiest route is working with a single supplier, like Andrews Building Supplies, they will not only help with scheduling and prompt you when things need to be ordered, but can be a cost effective and organised way to purchase goods.

The first thing you should do is set up a trade account; this will really help with cash flow. Sometimes your main contractor or project manager will offer to buy everything on your behalf, remember this will be the cost of the materials with VAT added on. With your own account and by you purchasing the materials means you can claim your VAT back on the project, which could save you thousands.

When you start working with Andrews, they have years of experience working with self builders and are on hand to advise and assist where they can.
